METROPOLITAN CLASSICAL BALLET TO PERFORM AT
COOK CHILDREN'S MEDICAL CENTER IN FORT WORTH

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 12, 2006

ARLINGTON, TEXAS - Patients, family members and staff of Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth will be treated to a condensed version of the traditional holiday favorite, The Nutcracker, on December 12 at 4:00 p.m. It will be presented by Metropolitan Classical Ballet as part of its Artistic Outreach program. The performance, which will take place in the lobby of the hospital, marks the eighth consecutive year the Company has performed there since 1999.

Company dancers will be joined by students of the Metropolitan Ballet Academy, who have been cast in the numerous Nutcracker children's roles. The academy is the official school of the Company. As an added gesture of giving, Metropolitan Classical Ballet and the children's cast will donate items to The Kid's Closet at Cook Children's Medical Center. The service provides patients or their family members assistance when there is an urgent need for appropriate clothing or personal care items.

Metropolitan Classical Ballet will present four public performances of The Nutcracker, music by Peter Ilych Tchaikovsky, choreography by Alexander Vetrov. Performances will be held at Texas Hall on the campus of the University of Texas in Arlington on Friday, December 8th at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, December 9 at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 10h at 2:00 p.m. All four performances will be set to the musical accompaniment of the Metropolitan Classical Ballet Orchestra under the direction of Ron Spigelman.
